Time To Die by Caroline Mitchell

Book description

Investigating a series of chilling murders, Detective Jennifer Knight finds herself tracking a mysterious tarot card reader known only as The Raven.

As the death toll rises, Jennifer and her team build a picture of a serial killer on the edge of sanity, driven by dark forces. But these are not random killings. And the method behind the madness could be the most terrifying thing of all … did fate alone ensure the victims demise, or did they receive a helping hand? As the tension mounts Jennifer finds herself racing against time, to save someone close to her, whose fate lies with the Raven.

When I read Caroline’s first novel Don’t turn around I gave it 5 stars,as I thought her writing couldn’t get any better, boy was I wrong if I could rate Time To Die higher I would! This is not just a crime thriller,as the addition of the paranormal element puts it on a whole new level. This is a well written supernatural detective story, with an surprising twist that I guarantee will keep you glued to the last page, because you never really know what’s going to happen next, Caroline writes a story full of suspense and the paranormal element only adds to the credibility of the story. I love Jennifer with all her quirks and her relationship with her sidekick Will, and her characters grow and become more developed as the plot thickens. As for Bert aka Raven Caroline manages to portray his character very well, he’s dark, evil and down right scary! I’ve always had a fear of Ravens and after reading time to die I can safely say I am terrified of them!(therapy maybe needed). Caroline manages to keep the pace going throughout, full of twists and turns along the way, at times I couldn’t turn the pages quick enough, it’s atmospheric, gritty and at times just plain scary, and what a twist at the end, I never seen that coming! I for one will wait for the next instalment with baited breath. Well done to Bookture for providing us with such a great author and one with such potential. I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review
