Caroline Mitchell is a new author to the world of crime and in my eyes she deserves everyone of her 5 stars. A spate of suspicious deaths takes place in Haven. The victims are found dead in the same circumstances as those murdered by the notorious Grim Reaper many years before. But the Grim Reaper was imprisoned in the 1990s. Is there a copy-cat killer at large? Or is there something far more sinister at work?
Many readers may not pick this book up, as it not only deals with crime but the paranormal, well in my opinion if they don’t take the time to read don’t turn around it will be their loss. I love crime books, but this one stands out as it gives a new take on crime. It kept me gripped from the first page and I really didn’t want to put it down, I found the paranormal content of the book not only added to book, but made for a very spine tingling read. Caroline’s characters are well written, and I can’t wait to read more about Jennifer and her relationship with Ethan. Jennifer the lead character is strong and determined with psychic abilities, that can some time get her into trouble, she also has OCD, which makes her character more believable,(not your usual perfect lead, found in most crime books).
I found don’t turn around a very refreshing read, and the paranormal aspect added to a brilliant story. I for one can’t wait to read the next book in the series and to Caroline, well done you certainly have earned your place in the crime writing world
