I’m privileged to have Sarah Hardy share her #TopFiveThursday with me. Sarah’s blog over at https://bytheletterbookreviews.wordpress.com/ is one of my favourites, not only that she was one of the first bloggers to follow me when I started the book review café, and has always been so supportive of my blog. So with no further ado here’s Sarah’s #TopFiveThursday
The five top books you’ve read this year (so far)?
It is really hard picking five books, especially when I have read so many great books this year already but I will go with the first ones that pop up into my head.
Tick Tick Boom by James Carol
My Girl by Jack Jordan
A Tapping At My Door by David Jackson
Outside Looking In by Michael Wood
The Night Stalker by Robert Bryndza
(The cover for Tick Tick Boom hasn’t been released yet)
Top five authors you think everyone should read?
Again there are so many authors that I want to say and it is so hard to choose five, apologies to any authors I don’t mention:
Top five books you want to read before the end of 2016?
I have a kindle full of books as well as quite a few physical books sat waiting to be read so there are loads I want to read as well as ones that haven’t been released yet.
A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman
Edward Unspooled by Craig Lancaster
The Helper as well as Marked by David Jackson
Heartless by Casey Kelleher
What top five tips would you give to new bloggers?
As I’ve only been blogging just over a year I still not feel fully qualified to be giving any advice out but here’s some advice that I was given:
Don’t be afraid to say no.
The blogging community is a great one, so if your ever struggling or have a question, shout out, as there are so many lovely bloggers out there that are more than happy to give advice or will try and help where they can.
Like many bloggers, blogging is a hobby, for me when I start to feel stressed or feel like it’s more like work I lessen my review load, it’s all about getting a happy medium and enjoying what your doing.
Don’t beat yourself up if you don’t like a book, every one has different tastes and not every book is going to be loved by the same people.
Have a good and clear review policy, this way you will hopefully get less invites to genres that you don’t read.
There are so many great blogs and bloggers out there and I feel awful only choosing a handful of them. I could go for the easy option of choosing my fab #BlogSquad members but they know how much I love them and lets face it, I don’t want to make them any more big headed than they already are 😉 so here are the other blogs that I think are worth a mention:
