**Taking A Break**

No weekly wrap up this week I’m afraid, I’ve decided I’m going to take a short break and step away from my blog and social media for the next couple of weeks. I will still be participating in the blog tours I’ve already agreed to, but I think I need some “Me” time. I’m still struggling to read and still haven’t managed to read a whole book yet!

At the moment I’m struggling working Monday-Friday and maintaining my blog, sharing posts etc I seem to spend most evenings just sharing posts, don’t get me wrong I love sharing the blogger love, but it just seems to be taking up a lot of my free time.

To all the bloggers who work Monday-Friday and manage to read, review and publish posts most days I take my hat off to you, I consider you all to be super human 😀

I guess only working part time and having days off in the week certainly helped me to establish my blog but at the moment I haven’t got the time or the energy. I’ve been feeling rough most of the week with a stinking cold so that hasn’t helped but don’t feel sorry for me, I just need to recharge my batteries and as Arnie said……..

  1. I usually work Monday-Friday and couldn’t keep up the amount of reading/blogging/social media-ing as I am now (I’m off work atm) and have to accept that. Enjoy your break… we all need one sometimes xx

  2. Anyone who blogs knows just how time consuming it is. Your body is obviously telling you you’re trying to do too much so what you need to do is give yourself a complete break and take care of you. We’ll miss you but want you to be well. Take care x

  3. Sending big cwtches! It’s a good time to remember that hobbies are meant to be fun. I just about manage one post a week & that’s ok with me. Take some pressure off yourself. You’ll be missed but you need to take care of you! Xx

  4. Enjoy your blogging break Lorraine, it is such hard work trying to juggle work, life and a blog and I struggle too – and after all this is supposed to be an enjoyable hobby and not a stressful one! Will be very happy to see you back once you’ve re-charged your batteries. x

  5. Enjoy your break! We ALL know how much time blogging takes up and the fact that usually it’s not the actually blogging that takes up time but social media sharing etc. So relax and don’t worry and we will all be here waiting for your return. As I always say….”it’s YOUR BLOG!” You do what is right for you to make it enjoyable for YOU!!”
Sending hugs and virtual lemsips xxxx

  6. Take care of yourself and enjoy the ‘me’ time. Recharge, refresh, and come back better than ever when you are ready!

*I also work M-F from 7:45 am to at least 4:45- sometimes later depending how busy it is. Which leaves not a lot of time in the evenings. I get the needing a break!

  7. Look after yourself Lorraine. It’s definitely a hard slog balancing it all so don’t feel bad about taking some time for yourself. Enjoy your break and don’t worry about anything but yourself. You’ll be missed but don’t rush back until you’re right. xx

    • Thanks Jen you are one of the awesome bloggers I was talking about how you manage to travel so much, work long hours without little sleep and still manage to read and review so many books is mind blowing 😘

      • It helps having no life and apart from an ageing dog zero responsibilities. That and no sleep. Probably because I’m used to the long hours etc I don’t notice as much but I do feel it. You’ll find your stride but best to take care of yourself first and foremost.

  8. Lorraine you’ll definitely be missed but this whole blogging thing is supposed to be fun and a hobby and when it stops being that then a break may be just the thing to recharge you and give you time to enjoy reading again! I’ll look forward to your return, feel better:)

  9. Enjoy your much deserved break! I certainly understand. I have been contemplating the same of late. I feel like I spend hours visiting and trying to keep up, but am able to accomplish very little reading of late. I just fear that if I break now, I might break more permanently. So I am waiting. I hope you return refreshed and recharged! You will certainly be missed ❤

  10. I totally relate to this. With my 9-6 job it’s been very hard to keep up with a regular blogging schedule and still have time to work out, date, spend time with friends and get errands and just general life stuff done. I’m not at the point of taking a full blown break yet, but I have considered it. I hope that the break is clarifying for you 🙂

  12. Enjoy your break and read all the books! I think it’s so necessary that doing something like a book blog feels like a passion and not a chore. You should enjoy yourself and take a step back when needed 🙂

  13. Enjoy your break. I have done it myself a few times when work and other life related things get in the way. Sure you will be back though and looking forward to it already!

  14. Have a restful break Lorraine. I can completely understand where you’re coming from. If I wasn’t retired I don’t think I could possibly maintain my blog as I have been doing. Non-bloggers have no idea the time and effort that goes into it. But we love it right? Otherwise why would we bother? Looking forward to your eventually return to the blogosphere.

    • Thanks the break done me the world of good and agree I’m not sure people realise just how much time is spent running a blog and working full time certainly adds to my time being limited x
